About this build

This Tesla Model X came through our Los Angeles studio as a electric platform build — EV-specific spec considerations come into play: glass curvature, charge-port edges, and the way battery heat moves through the cabin all factor into the install plan. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

This build focused on long-term exterior protection combined with a refined matte surface finish. A full-body protective film installation converted the original gloss paint into a smooth satin-like texture while preserving the factory color underneath. Ceramic tint was applied to improve cabin comfort during hot Southern California summers. Once the film installation was complete, a ceramic coating layer was added to simplify washing and reduce water spotting. Final inspection included edge sealing along the large rear hatch panel where film tension can change over time.

What we used on this Tesla

Why these finishes were combined

Tesla builds with several finishes work when each layer is planned in sequence: paint protection film keeps the exterior factory-perfect against road debris and UV, while ceramic tint cuts the heat soak that California sun pushes into a closed cabin; PPF stops the impact and chemical hits, ceramic coating sits on top so washing the car takes a fraction of the time and grime does not bake in.

What to expect after the install
