About this build

This Tesla Cybertruck came through our Los Angeles studio as an electric platform build — EV-specific spec considerations come into play: glass curvature, charge-port edges, and the way battery heat moves through the cabin all factor into the install plan. Single-service builds like this one keep the install schedule tight and let the owner add the next layer later if the use case changes.

A Cybertruck in satin black colour PPF — the blacked-out version of the same idea: full colour change and full-body protection in one pigmented film, with the factory stainless untouched underneath.

Satin black on this truck is a maintenance choice as much as a styling one. Bare stainless shows every fingerprint and water spot; satin colour PPF hides both and can be washed like paint. Because the film is self-healing urethane rather than vinyl, light scuffs from a car wash or a jacket zip pull out with warm water instead of staying as a permanent mark.

What we used on this Tesla

Why this finish was the right call

Color PPF lets the owner change the look of the car without losing factory paint underneath. Strip the film years later and the original finish is still the original finish — that is the entire point of choosing colour PPF over a wrap or a respray. The pigmented urethane is heavier than cast vinyl, holds sharper edges around shut-lines, and self-heals the same way clear PPF does.

In Los Angeles specifically, color PPF makes sense for two kinds of owner: the long-hold collector who wants a finish that survives a decade of garage time, and the short-hold lease driver who wants a colour shift today and a clean turn-in tomorrow. Both end up at the same spec sheet.
