About this build

This Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS came through our Los Angeles studio as a performance daily-driver build — the finish call usually hangs on whether the owner wants the car to read factory-spec or visibly customized once it leaves our bay. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

This open-top sports car came in for protection without changing its factory look. We applied clear paint protection film across the high-impact areas and finished the exterior with a ceramic coating for easier maintenance and stronger resistance to road grime. On a car with this kind of shape, the challenge is preserving clean reflections while keeping the film nearly invisible. Every section had to sit tight around the curves, edges, and trim transitions. The final result keeps the original finish intact while adding a sacrificial layer across the front bumper, hood, and rear arches.

Why these finishes were combined

Porsche builds with several finishes work when each layer is planned in sequence: PPF stops the impact and chemical hits, ceramic coating sits on top so washing the car takes a fraction of the time and grime does not bake in.
