About this build

This Ford Raptor F-150 came through our Los Angeles studio as a utility platform build — truck and SUV bodies see harsher use than a sport sedan, so the priority is durable coverage at the impact zones. The matte finish is the call when the owner wants the car to read low-profile under daylight and refuse to flash highlights at night. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

This performance truck was built for real use, so the focus was protecting the exterior while giving it a more controlled finish. We applied matte paint protection film across the body, added ceramic tint for heat rejection, and finished the exterior with a ceramic coating for easier maintenance. In Los Angeles and surrounding freeway conditions, trucks like this see constant debris exposure, especially on the front end and lower body. The installation had to stay even across large, upright panels and aggressive fender shapes. The most critical areas were the hood edge, front bumper, and bedside flares.

Why these finishes were combined

Ford builds with several finishes work when each layer is planned in sequence: paint protection film keeps the exterior factory-perfect against road debris and UV, while ceramic tint cuts the heat soak that California sun pushes into a closed cabin; PPF stops the impact and chemical hits, ceramic coating sits on top so washing the car takes a fraction of the time and grime does not bake in.
