About this build

This Ford Mustang Dark Horse came through our Los Angeles studio as a utility platform build — truck and SUV bodies see harsher use than a sport sedan, so the priority is durable coverage at the impact zones. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

A 2026 Mustang Dark Horse converted from its factory color into emerald stone green color PPF — a gloss film that protects the paint underneath while delivering a finish you cannot buy from the dealer. Two satin black racing stripes run hood-to-trunk on top of the green base, applied with a dedicated film so the color separation stays crisp and the stripe edges sit flush. Windows received ceramic tint — 35% on the sides and rear, 50% on the windshield — and we layered a ceramic coating over the PPF to add gloss depth and hydrophobic behavior. The whole build is reversible if the next owner wants the factory color back.

What we used on this Ford

Why these finishes were combined

Ford builds with several finishes work when each layer is planned in sequence: paint protection film keeps the exterior factory-perfect against road debris and UV, while ceramic tint cuts the heat soak that California sun pushes into a closed cabin; PPF stops the impact and chemical hits, ceramic coating sits on top so washing the car takes a fraction of the time and grime does not bake in.
