About this build

This Tesla Model Y Juniper came through our Los Angeles studio as an electric platform build — EV-specific spec considerations come into play: glass curvature, charge-port edges, and the way battery heat moves through the cabin all factor into the install plan. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

A Model Y Juniper wrapped in Stealth Grey matte colour PPF — a muted military-grey finish that changes the look and armours the paint against chips in one layer. Shot in the studio, the matte reads even and clean across every panel.

What we used on this Tesla

Professional SiO₂ ceramic coating — 9H surface hardness, hydrophobic, multi-year durability when paired with our prep wash and clay-bar decontamination.

Why this finish was the right call

A standalone ceramic coating turns wash time into a rinse-and-dry job. Hydrophobic surface means water sheets off, dust does not stick, and the paint keeps its depth between professional details. The SiO₂ chemistry creates a measurable hardness layer over factory clear — not a wax that flashes off, but a semi-permanent surface that lasts the rated multi-year span when maintained correctly.

For an LA commuter the practical win is fewer wash sessions: dust and bird debris come off with a hose pass, and the paint never spends a week dirty waiting for a free Saturday. For a garage-kept build, the coating preserves the show-quality finish without the weekly hand-detail labour.

What to expect after the install

Ceramic coating maintenance: first wash at 7 days, then a regular pH-neutral wash every 2–3 weeks keeps the hydrophobic layer active for the rated lifespan.
