About this build

This Porsche Taycan came through our Los Angeles studio as a performance daily-driver build — the finish call usually hangs on whether the owner wants the car to read factory-spec or visibly customized once it leaves our bay. Satin is the in-between choice — deeper than matte, calmer than gloss, and the most forgiving on day-to-day swirl marks. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

This build combined a full satin black wrap with heat-rejecting window film and a ceramic coating over the exterior surfaces. The goal was to give the car a darker, more controlled appearance while improving comfort and making the finish easier to maintain. Satin film sits in a narrow range where texture consistency matters more than most people realize, especially on large curved panels. The ceramic coating helps reduce water spotting and keeps the wrap cleaner between washes. Particular attention went into the front bumper and lower rocker areas where the body lines break sharply.

What we used on this Porsche

Why these finishes were combined

Porsche builds with several finishes work when each layer is planned in sequence: the wrap delivers the colour and finish, the coating helps the vinyl shed dust and dead bugs between washes; a colour change on the body looks more deliberate when the cabin glass is tinted to match the new exterior tone.
