About this build

This Tesla Model 3 Highland came through our Los Angeles studio as an electric platform build — EV-specific spec considerations come into play: glass curvature, charge-port edges, and the way battery heat moves through the cabin all factor into the install plan. Satin is the in-between choice — deeper than matte, calmer than gloss, and the most forgiving on day-to-day swirl marks. Single-service builds like this one keep the install schedule tight and let the owner add the next layer later if the use case changes.

A Model 3 Highland in platinum pink — a pearlescent film that sits between silver and rose depending on where you stand. Straight on it looks like brushed platinum; walk to the quarter and the hood turns distinctly pink. The close-up of the hood is the honest version of this colour.

Pearl and colour-shift films are directional: the flake orients with the pull, so two panels laid in different directions will read as two different colours in the same light. The hood, roof and both quarters were laid in a consistent direction and checked against each other in daylight before the film was post-heated and locked in.

What we used on this Tesla

Why this finish was the right call

A full vinyl wrap is reversible by design. The original paint stays sealed underneath the cast film, so the build can be revisited or sold without committing to a permanent colour change. The film stays dimensionally stable for years and can be removed in a controlled session without damaging factory clear — how long it looks new depends far more on where the car sleeps than on the brand of film.

For a Los Angeles daily driver the appeal is finishing the car in a colour the OEM does not offer — a satin neutral, a deep flip-shift, or a brand colour that simply was not on the build sheet — without locking the value of the car into that choice. When the lease rolls or the build evolves, the wrap comes off in a single morning.
