About this build

This Range Rover came through our Los Angeles studio as a luxury SUV build — large body panels invite full-coverage builds — partial wraps tend to look unfinished on this kind of vehicle. Satin is the in-between choice — deeper than matte, calmer than gloss, and the most forgiving on day-to-day swirl marks. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

A Range Rover in satin dark grey with the chrome deleted, the headlights smoked and a ceramic coating over the finished film. Four services stacked on one vehicle, sequenced so each one does not undo the last — wrap first, lights second, coating last.

Satin film on a Range Rover is a decision about upkeep as much as looks: satin cannot be polished, so a mark is permanent unless the panel is re-wrapped. The ceramic coating exists for exactly that reason — it gives the satin a sacrificial hydrophobic layer that washes clean instead of holding water spots. The smoked headlights were done in film, not paint, so they are reversible.

What we used on this Range Rover

Why these finishes were combined

Range Rover builds with several finishes work when each layer is planned in sequence: the wrap delivers the colour and finish, the coating helps the vinyl shed dust and dead bugs between washes; deleting the OEM chrome shifts the visual weight of the car — pairing it with the rest of the build means the trim never looks like an afterthought.
