About this build

This Mercedes G63 AMG came through our Los Angeles studio as a performance daily-driver build — the finish call usually hangs on whether the owner wants the car to read factory-spec or visibly customized once it leaves our bay. Multi-service builds are sequenced deliberately — one finish has to fully cure before the next one goes on top, so the schedule reflects that order.

A G63 AMG converted to satin black using full-body vinyl wrap — a complete color change that leaves the factory paint protected underneath. The G-Wagen's box geometry sounds easy to wrap until you reach the door spare-tire carrier, the side mirrors, the cladding strips and the front bumper grille surround. Each is its own seam plan. Satin black on a G63 is one of the most-requested finishes in Los Angeles right now; it cuts the chrome accents without the maintenance overhead of matte and stays uniform under the sun. Ceramic tint matched the look on the glass.

Why these finishes were combined

Mercedes builds with several finishes work when each layer is planned in sequence: a colour change on the body looks more deliberate when the cabin glass is tinted to match the new exterior tone.
