About this build

This Ferrari F12 Berlinetta came through our Los Angeles studio as a mid-engine supercar build — low-volume body panels mean every cut line gets verified against the factory shut-line before the film hits the surface. Gloss keeps the factory-paint depth front-and-centre while the colour shift carries the look. Single-service builds like this one keep the install schedule tight and let the owner add the next layer later if the use case changes.

This Ferrari F12 Berlinetta came in for full-body gloss color paint protection film — a finish change that doubles as protection for the factory paint underneath. The colour change lives in the film, not in spray, so the original Ferrari paint stays exactly as it left Maranello.

Gloss color PPF on a car with the F12’s long sculpted hood and shoulder lines is unforgiving: every reflection across the bodywork shows tension and alignment, and the pigmented top layer makes any squeegee mark permanent. Each panel was templated, wet-installed, and heat-set so the highlight runs cleanly from nose to tail.

The result is a flagship grand tourer with a new identity that can come off again later — the film is removable, the paint is preserved, the resale story stays clean.

What we used on this Ferrari

Why this finish was the right call

Color PPF lets the owner change the look of the car without losing factory paint underneath. Strip the film years later and the original finish is still the original finish — that is the entire point of choosing colour PPF over a wrap or a respray. The pigmented urethane is heavier than cast vinyl, holds sharper edges around shut-lines, and self-heals the same way clear PPF does.

In Los Angeles specifically, color PPF makes sense for two kinds of owner: the long-hold collector who wants a finish that survives a decade of garage time, and the short-hold lease driver who wants a colour shift today and a clean turn-in tomorrow. Both end up at the same spec sheet.
