This Dodge RAM came through our Los Angeles studio as a platform build — panel-by-panel prep stays the same across body styles — wash, decontaminate, align, install. Gloss keeps the factory-paint depth front-and-centre while the colour shift carries the look. This pickup was wrapped in gloss army green to create a tougher, more deliberate look while keeping the body lines clean and readable. Gloss finishes on trucks can become visually messy if reflections are broken by poor prep or inconsistent panel alignment, so the installation had to stay controlled from the beginning. What we used on this Dodge

3M, Avery Dennison, or KPMF architectural cast vinyl — premium 7–9 year films, plotter-cut on a Roland pro plotter so every cut line lands inside a factory shut-line.

Why this finish was the right call

A full vinyl wrap is reversible by design. The original paint stays sealed underneath the cast film, so the build can be revisited or sold without committing to a permanent colour change. The film is dimensionally stable for the rated 5–7 year window, and it can be removed in a controlled session without damaging factory clear.

For a Los Angeles daily driver the appeal is finishing the car in a colour the OEM does not offer — a satin neutral, a deep flip-shift, or a brand colour that simply was not on the build sheet — without locking the value of the car into that choice. When the lease rolls or the build evolves, the wrap comes off in a single morning.
