About this build

This Cadillac Escalade IQ came through our Los Angeles studio as a performance daily-driver build — the finish call usually hangs on whether the owner wants the car to read factory-spec or visibly customized once it leaves our bay. Gloss keeps the factory-paint depth front-and-centre while the colour shift carries the look. Single-service builds like this one keep the install schedule tight and let the owner add the next layer later if the use case changes.

For this project, a gloss Midnight Crimson Bloom film was installed on the full exterior of a Cadillac Escalade IQ. The deep burgundy base shifts through violet and near-black tones depending on angle and light, giving the panels a noticeable depth that is difficult to achieve with standard paint. The large, flat surfaces of the IQ — especially the hood, roofline and door panels — showcase the color shift clearly across the whole silhouette. The gloss finish retains sharp reflections of surrounding light, which complements the vertical front grille and slim LED signature. The wrap was trimmed tight along the chrome accents and wheel arches so the Cadillac design elements remain fully visible.

What we used on this Cadillac

3M, Avery Dennison, or KPMF architectural cast vinyl — premium 7–9 year films, plotter-cut on a Roland pro plotter so every cut line lands inside a factory shut-line.

Why this finish was the right call

A full vinyl wrap is reversible by design. The original paint stays sealed underneath the cast film, so the build can be revisited or sold without committing to a permanent colour change. The film is dimensionally stable for the rated 5–7 year window, and it can be removed in a controlled session without damaging factory clear.

For a Los Angeles daily driver the appeal is finishing the car in a colour the OEM does not offer — a satin neutral, a deep flip-shift, or a brand colour that simply was not on the build sheet — without locking the value of the car into that choice. When the lease rolls or the build evolves, the wrap comes off in a single morning.

What to expect after the install

Vinyl wrap care: hand-wash with a pH-neutral shampoo, no automated brush carwashes. Expect 5–7 years of finish life on a daily driver, longer on a garage-kept build.
