Gloss done right is a statement. Done exceptionally, like this build, it's a mirror of the car's best attributes -- amplifying every detail. The BMW M5's body design has enough sculptural complexity to reward a finish that interacts with light in interesting ways. This super gloss chalk grey vinyl wrap treatment was the right call.
Seams were placed in logical locations -- door shuts, panel edges, body lines -- so they disappear into the car's natural geometry. Anyone who doesn't know where to look won't find them. The film went on in sections sized to the panel geometry. Larger flat surfaces allow for cleaner single-piece installs; complex bumpers and mirrors required careful pattern work. Temperature-controlled application ensured proper adhesion without stretching the film beyond spec, which would affect both the protection level and the surface appearance.
The combination of color film with paint protection properties means the finish is both the aesthetic and the armor. This is the kind of result that gets photographed at every stoplight. More importantly, it's the kind of result that still looks right five years from now.
